Birthday Cake Pops inspired by Tori Spelling… The Baking Queen!
Cake pops are one of the hottest dessert trends right now – they are little bites of sweetness on a stick! Even Starbucks now sells cake pops! Tori Spelling is one Hollywood Hot Mom who is always on trend and she made sure to have this must have treat at her son Liam’s Ghostbuster themed fourth birthday party. You can whip up cake pops at home yourself, and impress your guests just like Tori!
There are a few different methods you can use to create cake pops, but our favorite way is one of the easiest. We love the Babycakes Cake Pop Maker. To create cake pops with the cake pop maker, you will need to have your cake ingredients (we adore the vanilla cake recipe that comes with the cake pop maker, and they have some great recipes on their site), some melting chocolate, such as Wilton Melts, sprinkles of your choice and some lollipop sticks.
After mixing up your cake batter according to directions, one of the easiest ways to fill the cake pop maker is by putting your cake batter into a large Ziploc bag or pastry bag. You can sit your empty bag in a large sturdy cup, and then spoon or pour in your batter. When you are ready to begin, plug in your cake pop maker, wait for the ready light, snip and end off of your plastic bag and fill the cake pop reservoirs with batter. In just a few short minutes, you will have perfect little cake balls that are ready to become cake pops!
Let your cake cool after it comes out of the cake pop maker. After your cake pops have cooled, put them in the freezer for 10-20 minutes and prepare your melting chocolate according to the package directions. Take your cake pops out of the freezer, and dip each stick into the melted chocolate, and then into the cake pop. Having the cake pops chilled makes them easier to work with and lets the chocolate set up quickly. Once you have sticks in all of your cake pops, stick them back in the freezer for another 10-15 minutes, and then you are ready to dip each cake pop into your chocolate. After dipping each cake pop, add a few of your favorite sprinkles, and sit them the cake pop stand (that’s included with the cake pop machine) to dry. Now you have cake pops as sweet as Tori’s!
