We often talk about pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding in terms of how it all relates to women because we think of motherhood has something that is strictly for females. But a new father in Britain is challenging the stereotypes about having babies by becoming the country’s first man to give birth.
And of course, he probably doesn’t think of himself as a symbol to challenge the status quo; he’s probably just doing what every person who gives birth does and trying to make it through the day without 1) a bottle of wine 2) a gallon of coffee and 3) a burning desire to sleep for 24 hours straight. But still, it’s something to be celebrated as the whole world recognized that the reproductive cycle is not just limited to females and there are many ways to become a parent.
