Chris Pratt Shares Sweet Video Of Son Jack In Honour Of World Prematurity Day

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris welcomed their son Jack 9 weeks early back in 2012, weighing only 3 pounds 12 ounces. Jack stayed in the neonatal intensive care unit until he was strong and healthy enough to leave the hospital, and since then both Chris and Anna have worked to raise awarness about premature birth.

Yesterday was World Prematurity Day, a day aimed at raising awareness of the babies born around the world too early. To honour that day Chris posted an adorable video of his young son who was colouring while wearing a green bucket on his head (as 3 year olds do) while he and Anna can be heard singing ‘Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead’ from The Wizard of Oz, clearly a favourite of Jack’s.

The actor captioned the video ‘Today is World Prematurity Day. Premature birth is the leading cause of death in children under 5 worldwide. About 15 million babies are born too soon every year. Nearly 1 million of these babies die within the first month of life. Support #WorldPrematurityDay and join the millions of volunteers who support #MarchofDimes.

Pratt has worked with The March of Dimes since Jack’s birth, crediting them with making huge differences in the lives of premature babies saying “None of what we went through would be as easy even 10 years ago,” he said, adding that life in NICU is a balancing act, “a balance that’s tipping toward life by cutting-edge medicines, much of which is a direct result of this wonderful organization, the March of Dimes.”

So happy little Jack is doing well, he is definitely a cutie!
