‘Dear Abby’ Under Fire for ‘Incredibly Irresponsible’ Advice She Gave Parents About Playdates

We all want our kids to be safe, especially whenever they’re without us. It’s definitely not uncommon for parents to be a bit worrisome whenever their kids go on play dates in a new home. So what’s a cautious parent to do? We ask questions. And there’s nothing wrong with that in my book.

In recent years, with so many gun related accidents taking place, it’s not uncommon (and by many experts – advised) so ask about guns in the home before we send our child to play with a friend. But recently, well known advice columnist, ‘Dear Abby’ seemingly advised against this – stating it might be “off-putting” to parents. Um, yikes.
