Disney is rolling out the red carpet once again and celebrating the Diamond Years and if anyone can do that best it is Disney! On May 22, 2015 the Disneyland Resort will kick off its Diamond Celebration with a dazzling 24-hour event and three new nighttime spectaculars.
My kids are extremely excited about this. We are annual passholders and try to get there as often as we can! Plus adding a little Neil Patrick Harris along with Mickey to the World of Color will make it extra special!
- “Paint the Night” parade: This nighttime celebration on Main Street, U.S.A., introduces a new era of magical entertainment in a dazzling display of new technology and wild imagination featuring more than 1.5 million, brilliant LED lights. It will be the first all-LED parade at the Disneyland Resort.
- “Disneyland Forever” firework spectacular: The Disneyland tradition of fantastic fireworks leaps to a new level with “Disneyland Forever.” With breathtaking projections across Disneyland park, fantastic music and other special effects, “Disneyland Forever” will set a new standard for nighttime fireworks shows.
- “World of Color – Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney”: The waters in Paradise Bay lagoon will come to life with a whole new presentation of “World of Color” during the Diamond Celebration. Hosts Neil Patrick Harris and Mickey Mouse take guests on a journey to celebrate Walt Disney and his dream of Disneyland with more than 1,200 fountains, lasers, special effects and a stirring musical score.
In addition to these after-dark offerings, the entire Disneyland Resort will glisten and gleam throughout the year in commemoration of the Diamond Celebration. From Sleeping Beauty Castle to Carthay Circle Theatre to the Esplanade, through Downtown Disney and on the streets of Anaheim, the Disneyland Diamond Celebration will sparkle as guests from around the world visit the original Magic Kingdom.
