“Be nice to the fat girls!”
Every single day I tell my children to be nice to everyone. And by that, I mean EVERYONE they see throughout the day including their teachers, friends, classmates, teammates and so on.
Even though my kids are still young, I want them to know how important it is to uplift someone when they’re feeling down or to reach out to someone who might be having a tough day. Sometimes you never know what others are going though and often a smile, a positive gesture or even a word or two can go a long way.
That’s why blogger Ayelet Waldman says that what she tells her popular-pre-teen daughter will go a long way in helping curb the widespread bullying that is so problematic with today’s teens.
