Healthy Teen’s Death Is a Painful Reminder the Flu Can be Really Dangerous

Call me crazy, but I would like to believe that kids have strong immune system and don’t need cough or cold medicine each time they make a little peep (cue towards my mother-in-law, who believes in the exact opposite of what I do). I know that’s not always the case though, but I don’t generally worry about the common flu.

Luckily, we haven’t had any major sicknesses in our household yet. But for one Maryland teen, her family didn’t realize that her flu symptoms were more than just minor aches and pains here and there. In fact, her symptoms were more than just that, leaving Kayla Linton’s entire family in shock.
