Every year I always give myself a goal of wanting to lose 5-7 to pounds before the summer season. Sometimes I do it, sometimes I don’t. That’s because I don’t always have the time to think about my diet, what I’m eating or how fast I should be walking from Point A to Point B. As a busy mom who juggles work with my household chores and taking care of the kids, losing weight just sometimes isn’t a priority for me.

Drink plenty of water. Often we think we’re hungry when our bodies are actually just begging for water. Cut the sodas, the iced lattes and all of the other sugary drinks in you life and you’ll be surprised at how quickly you’ll start losing weight.
2. Have a High-Calorie Breakfast
Remember when your mother used to tell you that breakfast was the most important meal of the day? She was right. Try eating about a 300 calories of a healthy mix of protein and whole grains. My go-to meal: a sandwich with natural peanut butter and apple butter. It keeps my hunger down so I snack less throughout the day.
In other words, clean your pantry. Anything that is boxed is probably not good for you anyway. Eating more protein is a great long-term strategy to reduce belly fat.
