My mother is a trained midwife. Over the years I’ve learned the basics of childbirth and the things that can go wrong. In fact I was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around my neck and had to spend the first few days of my life in an incubator. So I know that while giving birth is a miracle, things can and do go wrong and coming out of that process with a healthy mother and child is still a blessing that shouldn’t be taken for granted.
But of all the birth stories that I’ve heard I’ve never heard one quite like that of Bachelor in Paradise stars Jade Roper Tolbert and Tanner Tolbert who welcomed their first child, Emerson, into the world seven weeks ago. The new mommy is sharing the dramatic story of her labor and delivery and why they are very lucky that they came home with a healthy baby.
Why is Jade Roper Tolbert thankful that her daughter was born four weeks early?
