One of my pet peeves is when a model, actress or reality TV star goes on and on about having a positive body image and loving their curves, then suddenly drops a lot of weight and gushes about their new fitness program. Or, even worse, they claim that they just took up yoga and hiking and lo and behold miraculously dropped 50 pounds just because they started doing the downward dog a few times a week.
I’m not sure if this story – about Khloé Kardashian – totally slots into that category. But, ever since she lost weight it feels like she sometimes slyly throws shade on her former heavier self. A recent essay that she wrote to mark the 10th anniversary of Keeping Up With the Kardashians has left me with that impression.
