I know there’s lots of you who really don’t like Kim Kardashian, but I really feel like what she’s saying here might hit home for a lot of women. The queen of selfies recently opened up about her feelings on pregnancy on her website and she reveals that she really doesn’t enjoy being pregnant at all.
In a post titled “From the Desk Of: How I Really Feel About Being Pregnant” Kim speaks about why she doesn’t enjoy the one experience so many women gush over saying;
“I’m gonna keep it real: For me, pregnancy is the worst experience of my life! LOL! I don’t enjoy one moment of it and I don’t understand people who enjoy it. My mom [Kris Jenner] and Kourtney clearly did! More power to them but I just don’t relate!” She goes on to write “Maybe it’s the swelling, the backaches or just the complete mindf—k of how your body expands and nothing fits. I just always feel like I’m not in my own skin.
Now many of you will take this opportunity to slam Kim for saying this, but I applaud her for it. I was one of those women who didn’t love being pregnant at all and I never felt like there were other women who felt the same way as I did. It’s a bit polarizing to feel that way to be honest, especially since most women will go on and on about how much they loved it. I loved actually having my babies (I did have 4!) but I could have done without the weight gain and the heartburn and the complete loss of control of your own body!
Kim goes on to write about all the fun things that happen after you have the baby too, writing “People just don’t tell you all of the gross things that happen during pregnancy or after. Do you know you basically have to wear a diaper for two months afterwards?!” LOL! No one told me that! #SoSexy.”
RIGHT?! I mean, pregnancy and childbirth is made to be the really wonderful and beautiful experience, which it is for some women, and for others there’s the reality of constant bleeding like you’ve never bled before for 2 months after you give birth!
Of course Kim goes on to say that even though pregnancy may suck for some of us, in the end it’s worth every bit of it, “Really, it is all SO worth it when you have your precious baby in the end! So for all my complaining, it’s 100 percent worth it and more!!!”
