Thankfully, I was a teenager long before cell phones, social media and instant text messages were a thing. Back in the mid-1990’s (that seems like such a long time ago, doesn’t it?) we didn’t have to worry about GPS tracking, checking in with our parents every hour or hiding evidence of our nights out from social media. In fact, those days were quite simple. No one carried camera phones and we certainly didn’t have Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat to document our activities.
Fast-forward almost two decades later and it’s a whole different ball game now. Everything has changed and for teenagers it has gotten much more difficult to say that you’re spending the night at Kayle’s house when in actuality you’re at Marcus’s house party (because your parents are tracking your every move on their Find Friends app). And while some teens think they can get away with their illicit activity, this parent has a genius parenting hack that has the entire internet raving.
Is this the most overprotective mom on the Internet?
