If you’ve had a baby, you may be well familiar with my BFF for life, the “mommy pouch.”
Not all moms get the dreaded “mommy pouch,” but many of us do. We may get back down to the same weight we were pre-pregnancy, we may tone up and shape up in every other part of our bodies, but our tummies? Well, they just seem to want to stick around in all their mushy, soft glory.
On one hand, I’d say we just celebrate those tummies that have given actual life and stretched to unimaginable proportions (well, at least mine has, which I’ll admit wasn’t always fun going through), but on the other hand, our “mummy tummies” aren’t always something that we should just write off as a normal part of being a mom. Sometimes, there’s a real medical condition that is the cause and not all women realize that.
