Motherhood Is the Toughest Job and These Illustrations Prove It Well

I’ll be the first person to admit that before I got pregnant with my first child, I had no idea how difficult, how challenging and how downright smelly and messy motherhood would be. You can read all of the pregnancy and parenting books in the world and it still won’t prepare you for what many people like to call the most rewarding yet difficult job in the world.

That’s why a lot of parents can’t help but feel that these illustrations prove that motherhood is indeed the toughest job in the world. It’s stressful, it’s demanding, it’s sometimes gross, your’e on the clock 24 hours a day, and unfortunately there’s no paycheck to cash out on Friday evening. But with all of that being said, millions of moms sign up for the job every year anyway. You gotta love a good challenge, right?

These photos prove just how difficult motherhood can be!

I can’t tell you how many times my husband has tried to avoid changing a dirty diaper while our children were still young. Heck, everyone in my family from the grandparents, to aunts and uncles and even cousins seemed to turn away when it came to the job. It’s no wonder moms aren’t phased by anything – from diaper explosions to complete messy snotty messes.

2. Co-Sleeping

I think someone said it the best when they said that they don’t co-sleep, but their children do. Because let’s face it, how many parents actually do get some shut eye while sharing a bed with their partners, babies and toddlers? Between the snoring, the teeth grinding and the constant restless arm syndrome, it’s mom who is the only person up at 2am.

3. Bras

If I could, I would live my life without wearing a bra. But because I’m not a Size A and society would judge me for letting my girls hang out on the loose, I need to wear it in public even if it feels totally uncomfortable. It’s no wonder that the first thing most women do is take the sucker off the moment we get home!
