I always tell everyone that my 14-year-old Rottweiler/Dachshund mix (that’s no lie) was my first baby. My husband and I adopted him after he ran away from his previous owners during a frightening hurricane in 2005. This was also the same year that we were married.
The three of us lived blissfully for about two years until our first newborn came along. Two years later, we were pregnant with our second child. And as I’m sure you can imagine, my hands were full with my two little people so much so that I would sometimes forget to feed our dog on schedule or take him out for his nightly walks. It’s not that we neglected him on purpose, it’s just that he became a third priority in our family’s ladder of hierarchy.
And if there’s anyone who knows what I’m talking about here, it’s Seth Meyers. He recently admitted that yes, his family’s priorities have definitely changed over the years and unfortunately, his dog is getting the short stick in their situation.
Seth Meyer’s comments are striking a cord with pet owners everywhere.
