If you didn’t already need another reason to love Taylor Swift, I’m going to give it to you anyway. The chart topper has once again showed us that her heart is definitely in the right place when it comes to her fans as she recently donated 25,000 books to schools in need in New York City.
Partnering with Scholastic, it was part of their “Open a World of Possible” campaign and reading initiative, which works to inspire a lifelong love of learning and reading. Here’s a little more from a press statement:
“Scholastic is honored to join with Taylor Swift who continues to show a passion for literacy and a commitment to spreading the message of how influential books can be in a child’s life,” said Greg Worrell, President, Scholastic Education. “Through this donation, we aim to encourage independent reading which inspires a love of learning and to ‘Open a World of Possible’ for more New York City students by making sure they have access to the very best children’s books.”
Go on with your bad self, girl! Because reading always has been, and always will be the cool thing to do.
