The ‘Girl Meets World’ Star Says She Identifies As Queer But Doesn’t Want To Be Labeled

Because my children are still in elementary school, I don’t watch many pre-teen shows on television, even though Girl Meets World actress Rowan Blanchard has been on my radar for some time now. The 14-year-old cutie has recently explained that while she definitely feels an attraction for boys, she wants to identify herself as queer… just so she can be open to liking any gender in the future.

Makes sense, doesn’t it?

“In my life – only ever liked boys,” she wrote in a tweet draft she screencapped. “However I personally don’t wanna label myself as straight, gay or whateva so I am not gonna give myself labels to stick with – just existing.”

While Rowan has recently received a lot of Twitter hate for opening up about her decision to be queer, she has also received a lot of support from her fans, too.

Seriously, this girl’s strength and bravery amazes me and sometimes I can’t believe she’s only 14! The fact that she can make such mature statements at her age simply blows my mind.
