The Stars were out at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, CA, celebrity parents attended the first ever Red CARpet Event to help spread the word about the importance of child passenger safety.  Sponsored by Britax and Buick, the event was held in association with SafeKids USA, a non-profit dedicated to preventing unintentional childhood injury.

Every year, thousands of children are tragically injured or killed in motor vehicle traffic crashes. In fact, motor vehicle crashes in the U.S. are the leading cause of death for children age 3 and older.  Roughly 3 out of 4 child safety seats are not used correctly, and securing children properly is the most effective thing that can be done to protect them in the event of a crash.  SafeKids USA will host more than 300 car seat checkup events during National Child Passenger Safety Week, September 18-24. Click here for the times and locations for these events.

In attendance at the Red CARpet Event were a group of honorary “Car Seat Ambassadors” – celeb moms who have shown their dedication to bettering the lives of children.  These celebrities included: actress Ali Landry, actress and reality star Tori Spelling, Franklin and Bash’s Garcelle Beauvais, Entertainment Tonight’s Samantha Harris, Switched at Birth actress Constance Marie, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards, the Nine Lives of Chloe King actress Alicia Coppola, and Greys Anatomy’s Sarah Drew.

Many celebrity parents at the event took advantage of SafeKids USA’s on-site child passenger safety technicians:  a team of nearly 15 installed new Britax  car seats and boosters for guests, as well as education about the importance of car seat safety, proper installation, etc.  Celebrities who took advantage of this service included Tori Spelling, who had her little one’s Liam and Stella by her side at the event, Garcelle Beauvais, who sported new seats for her twins, Samantha Harris, Constance Marie, Kyle Richards, and Sarah Drew, who got a seat installed for her soon-to-be born baby.

Inside the event, kids of all ages enjoyed: face painting, crafting, and wax hands, while their parents checked out the latest cars from Buick, Britax’s car seats and strollers, clothing from Children’s Place, and products from USANA, VTech Toys, Mabel’s Labels, Sensa, Nestle, among others.
