When I became pregnant with my two boys, I gained more than the average amount of weight – I gained A LOT of weight. Forget the average 25 to 35 pounds the experts say most women will gain during their pregnancy. I stopped stepping on the scale once I surpassed the 50-pound mark.
So you can imagine how difficult it was to drop all of that weight post-baby. Getting back to my pre-pregnancy weight was… well, it never actually happened. I lost most of the weight after my baby turned a year old. But I didn’t put the pressure on myself to drop it all; my body had changed. And it was okay! My hips had widened, I now had stretch marks, and a permanent kangaroo pouch. I had a baby, and my body – and life – had forever changed.
But not all women do.
