In the video, the young woman, whose name appears to be “Jillian,” notes that she didn’t realize that what she was doing was an actual disorder until she Googled “pull out her hair.” Like many sufferers, Jillian felt all alone in her struggles. But the disorder is more common than you might think.  One to two people in every 50 are estimated to have some form of trich. “People don’t realize it’s a disorder,” she says. “They think it’s a yucky habit — and it’s not.”
