Many women struggle with reproductive issues throughout their lives. There are many medical conditions that prevent a woman from getting pregnant without the intervention of medical science, and even then conceiving and carrying a pregnancy to term is never guaranteed.

I can’t even begin to imagine the fear and uncertainty that comes with a cancer diagnosis, especially when you’re a young woman. Virgina Johnson had dealt with more than her fair share of health and reproductive crisis’ throughout her life, but it was after she suffered an ectopic pregnancy that doctors delivered the tragic news that they had also discovered the woman had bladder cancer.

This news was even more tragic for Johnson as she and her husband Victor were already dealing with the loss of their pregnancy, now they had to deal with the notion that they may never be able to have children together.

Thanks to IVF treatments, Virginia Johnson and her husband were able to beat the odds and not only did they welcome their now 3-year-old daughter Zoey, but the couple are also parents to a set of quadruplets!
