My children almost never ask for fruit juice and that’s mostly because I never gate it to them when they were toddlers. But I’ll be honest with you, and it’s because I don’t drink many juices myself. The only two beverages I have on a daily basis are coffee and water. And because I don’t buy cokes, sprites, fruit juices of Gatorades, my children don’t drink them at home. And that might be a good thing because the only thing they would get out of it is a sugar high and a trail of juice boxes left scattered on the floor.
With that being said, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with juice boxes in general. For us, it’s just a matter of preference and taste (we get our sugar fix elsewhere). But now there are new guidelines as far as when and how much fruit juice should be given to toddlers.
Should young toddlers drink fruit juice?
